Sunday Afternoon Card Making

Today is the first time in months that I've sat down in my craft room to make some cards.  The area had sort of become a storeroom and took me a while to clear it out enough to get to my work table.  Then I had to refresh my memory on how to use MTC software and Cameo!

Using the Stamp-A-ma-jig I was able to position the sayings on the hearts cut with my Cameo.

There are only four of this design so I just hand cut the opening of the jar.  It's pop dotted off the base for dimension.
This is a good way to use up some of the striped papers you have that you really don't like!

The butterfly is SU's Elegant Butterfly punch.

The pink pearls were purchased years ago at a scrapbook expo in Texas.

I've had the hello stamp for a long time and do not know the maker.
On on of my shopping trips with Okieladybug, I bought a package of precut borders at Tuesday Morning.  I cut the borders and had enough butterflies to complete four cards.

Petite Petals Wreath

This was done with Petite Petals punch and stamp using Bermuda Bay ink.

Teal Gingham Card

The bow was cut with a die.

The butterfly is a Martha Stewart punch---and the reason I no longer purchase her punches!  It has never punched completely through and is a total pain in the butt to use.  Most of the time it just hangs on the punch rack above my work table.  It's just one of several MS punches I've purchased that don't work as they should.

The border punch is from We R Memory Keepers.

Thinking of You Card

I embossed the card base and rounded the outer corners.

The sentiment was printed on my computer with Nokia Brush HMK font and punched using Stampin' Up's Decorative Label punch.  The shadow for the punched shape was cut using MTC.

One half of a paper doily was tucked under the printed paper section.

Hello Card

Inspired by Peg Combes, a Stampin' Up demonstrator, and a card seen on her blog.

I used Lovely as a Tree stamp set.

Three Roses Die Cut Card

It seems like forever since any new cards have been posted on here.  It's been a rough July for me; not feeling well at all, and just now feeling up to doing some crafting again.

The rose die used on this came with a card making magazine from the UK.

The background on the card appears to be embossed in the photo but it's actually white on white die cuts of the rose itself. Two of the roses are glued onto the center rectangle and the top one was pop dotted for dimension.

It took quite a while to get the die cuts done and assembled.  There are a total of 14 die cuts on the card front.  Now I remember why I bought an electronic cutter!

Design-A-Flower Card

This card was done using an embossing folder and stamp set that came with Papercraft magazine.

I embossed the card front then stamped and cut out the large flower and leaves by hand.  They are pop dotted onto the matching embossed area.

The smaller embossed flowers were tinted with Memento Ladybug Red ink and a dauber.

I added the sentiment and two small coordinating flower stamps in the upper corner and was done!

Coffee Bean Card

The background paper is from Graphic 45.  I stamped it with a coffee bean stamp.

The sentiment was done using Silhouette software print and cut.

I traced the coffee cup and did a print and cut on it also.

The cut out shapes were shadowed using the offset feature in the software.

This card could be used for just a note or maybe even a Valentine.

Embossed Leaves Card

Using Make The Cut, I cut an oval mask to fit onto the 5 1/4 x 4" mat..  Then I used Stampin' Up's En Francais stamp for the background and added some inking with Chestnut Roan ink and a Tim Holtz round inker.

After I removed the mask, I stamped the leaves with Versamark ink and embossed  them with gold. I used gold metallic paper for the card front.

By leaving the inside blank, this card could be used for a variety of occasions.

Embossed Card

This is the folder I used for today's card. The sentiment was printed on my computer and not stamped.

It took me a couple of tries to place the sentiment so it would print exactly inside the flat area.  I used Hallmark Card Studio to print it on card stock, then trimmed it and embossed.

Then I trimmed a narrow strip off the top and bottom of EK Success' real estate sign punch and placed it on either side of the flat area.

Blue Bird on Branch Card

Inspired by a card seen on a SU demo's blog.

The edges of the mat were distressed with Cutterbee scissors.

I really need to just buy that round paper distressing tool I keep seeing at Hobby Lobby before I ruin the blades on my Cutterbees!

The bird was stamped and punched using SU products and colored with Promarkers.

Petite Petals Card

Stampin' Up has come out with a Petite Petals punch and coordinating set of stamps.  Since I make A2 cards, I use smaller sized flowers and know that I'll get a lot of use from those items.

Today's card has a SU cardstock base, a blue mica paper scalloped rectangle and a white scalloped rectangle on the front. These are on the Elegant Edges Cricut cartridge and cut using Make The Cut software.

I stamped the leaves with Always Artichoke SU ink onto the white rectangle. Then I used Danube blue Memento ink to stamp the flowers onto the blue mica paper and punched them with the Petite Petals punch.  the centers are dots of baby blue liquid pearls.  The sentiment is from SU's Filled With Love stamp set.

Masking Tape Technique

This is a technique explained to me by a Stampin' Up demonstrator.  You ink masking tape, then apply it onto paper and gently peel it off.  The texture of the tape makes a nice image.

For this card, I cut a piece of 3 1/4" x 5" white cardstock, and inked 1" wide masking tape with three colors of ink.  Black embossing powder makes the sentiment stand out.  The tree image is from SU's Lovely as a Tree stamp set.

I like the texture of the background from the masking tape.  Now I just need to figure out a good way to ink the tape without inking all my fingers too!

Stars and Heart Card

The stars were sized and cut with my Cameo and topped with a clip art heart.  I wrapped a border made with an EK Success punch with some baker's twine and added some pen work and a stamped sentiment.
