Punched Hearts Card

A Stampin' Up punch was used for the hearts.  I inked the edges and used a Peachy Keen stamp for the face.  They sit on a 2" x 4" rectangle with inked edges and pen work. Inspired by a card seen online.

Baker's Twine Card

This card was designed by Katie Gehring and seen on Pinterest.  Just rows of baker's twine and a simple printed sentiment.

Brown Hearts Card

This card was inspired by one seen online.

The paper is Stampin Up chocolate chip designer paper; the sentiment was computer generated; I used a SU scalloped border punch, cut the hearts out using DS and George cartridge then embossed them with a Cuttlebug folder.  I added some white dots with a Signo gel pen and attached a baker's twine bow to accent the hearts.

Love Notes Card

This card was shown in a past issue of CardMaker magazine.  I don't have an envelope stamp so I searched online and found a free clip art image to use.  After they were printed, I used a Promarker to add the shadows for dimension and added some tiny hearts with a Martha Stewart Punch.

The scalloped rectangle was cut using the Art Philosophy cartridge.

I printed the sentiment then slipped one end of the rectangle into an oval punch to shape the end of the tag and tied it on with a piece of baker's twine.

Card base cardstock - 5 1/2  x  4 1/4

Black cardstock    -  2 pieces 2 3/4  x  2 3/4

Patterned cardstock - 2 pieces 2 1/2  x  2 1/2
                                  3 pieces 1 1/4  x  2

Printed sentiment was punched with an 1 3/8" circle punch and mounted onto a 1 1/2 circle.

Finished my cards from the swarm yesterday

I had so much fun yesterday picking on Carrie Elmore and visiting with the other women at the swarm that I came home with the majority of my cards that I took to work on, unfinished.  This afternoon I completed thirty two cards, so the weekend  wasn't a total loss for crafting after all!

The cat stamps are from a set I bought at And Bear Makes Three in Moore.  They were part of our supplies for a card class Shirley and I took a few months ago.  I colored them with Promarkers and distressed the background with Tim Holtz ink to soften the stark white card stock.

The last two are re-makes of cards from my photo files.  I had to come up with something in a hurry to do so I just resurrected these.

The sentiments on these are computer generated.  I used my Expression to cut the "U and R" and a SU punch for the top sentiment.

In addition to these four cards,  I took more of the ones I posted earlier in the week with the twine wrapped around the scalloped circles.

Card with Twine

Dawn Griffith has a card photo on her blog of one with twine wrapped around some punched shapes.  This is my version of her card.

I used Elegant Edges to cut the postage stamp shaped squares and wrapped them with baker's twine.  Printed the sentiment and mounted it on a couple of scalloped ovals, added some punched photo corners and was done.

Tim Holtz Grungy Paper

The papers that Tim Holtz designs are some of my favorites.  The dark colors and interesting objects he chooses always cause me to want to buy those stacks.

The background papers came from an old stack (not TH) and the punched rectangles are from his Lost and Found stack.  I went online to find the old postcard image, imported it into my cardmaker software to re-size and print, and used Plantin Schoolbook cartridge to cut the "U".  The edges were all inked and some baker's twine was tied around the rectangle.

I made a total of six of these layouts, two with the dark green background, two with antiqued orange and a dark red.

I really am very happy with the way this card turned out!  It was inspired by one I saw in Card magazine.

This leg stamp is from a set I bought yesterday at Michael's.  I'm giving away 20 yards of five different colors of baker's twine for the best suggestion for a greeting or sentiment  to use this stamp on an A2 sized card.  The image measures 1 1/8" wide by 4" tall.

The only restriction is that the suggestion has to be totally rated "G" and suitable to include in the cards I send to Cards for Soldiers.  Remember, these cards are sent to the military for them to use to send back home.

Good Luck Card

A SU punch was used for the border; I cut the row of dice from a full sheet of paper, the stamp is an old Studio G, the hand of cards was cut using Old West and distressed with Tim Holtz ink.

I've had these cut outs laying on my work table for over a week trying to decide how to use them.

I added a little baker's twine to make everything come together better.

I made multiple versions of this and added some heat fix dots to some of them and omitted the stamped sentiment.  This is my favorite of the ones I put together.

Cowboy Cards

Last year at GASC, I bought several sheets of chipboard stickers with a western theme.  I thought they'd make good images to use on cards geared toward children.

After working with twine on some other cards today, I decided it could also work as "rope" and here's what I made this afternoon.  The background paper was bought at Hobby Lobby a while back.

Another card inspired by one I saw on Splitcoast Stampers.  The sentiment was printed in Excel and I used a SU punch on the top, Tim Holtz distress inked the edges and put a button done with a Martha Stewart punch on it. 

I figured since I have tons of twine on hand, that I better start getting serious about using it! LOL!  I used my Crop-o-dile to punch a single hole through the card and fed the twine through it and tied the bow.  By putting it through the hole, it will stay in place better on the card.

The inside sentiment was done in my cardmaker software using "8 Year Old" font and I added a little party hat punch out with a Martha Stewart punch.

Butterfly Card with Baker's Twine

I didn't want to use any of the baker's twine from the share until everyone else's was in the mail to them.

Of all things, I found some butterfly print paper that I could punch out using an old MS punch.  So, I quickly assembled a few cards just so I could say I used part of the twine! LOL!

The background for the butterflies was cut using Lacy Labels cartridge.

 Baker's twine is popular right now on cards and layouts.  I wanted some but didn't see any sense in paying over $10 to get just a few yards shipped to me.  So, I went on Facebook and asked if anyone was interested in splitting some of the large cones of twine with me since each cone has 3,400 yards.

It took me a while, but I got 65 shares of the twine measured, bundled and ready to mail.   Fred made a device to use for the measuring or I'd still be standing here looking at 5 cones of twine trying to figure out the best way to do that!

There were 13 of us who went together to share the twine.We each got 230 yards of five colors.  I think I have enough twine now to last me a lifetime!  LOL! 

Now that I have this little project finished, I'm going to go make some cards and USE some of mine!

I get myself into so much trouble!

Tonight I decided to do a group buy/share on some baker's twine.

I went online and found a bakery supply selling 3400 yard cones of it at a really good price.   They have it in five different colors.

It didn't make sense to even buy a single cone since it has almost 2 FREAKIN' MILES of twine on it unless someone wanted to share it with me.  And I wanted more than one color, of course, which compounded my problem.

Facebook and the Cricut MB seemed like a good place to ask if anyone wanted to do a share so I did some fast calculations and posted the offer.

Within an hour I had the twelve people needed to do the share.

The twine has been ordered and should be here in about a week.

That gives me about seven days to figure out how the heck I'm going to measure five cones of twine, each holding 3400 yards, into 260 yard lengths.  And, I get to repeat it 65 times!

I get myself into so much trouble!  LOL!
