Western Cards With Horses

 I printed the sentiment and the Southwest emblems using Hallmark Card Studio software and Yearbook Solid font.  The corners are a 3/4" square, cut on the diagonal.

The horse was stamped with Close to Cocoa ink.

This was the original layout for the card I had in mind.
Once I got the horses image applied onto the card front, it had too much plain background surrounding the horse so I added an 1 1/4" and 1" scalloped circle and punched 1" star to break it up.

Clip art images, a sentiment printed on my computer and some barn wood printed paper fit together to make a quick, Western themed card.

I stamped the pocket and hand cut some paisley paper for the handkerchief.


The other elements are from a printed sheet from a western themed stack from Hobby Lobby.

Saloon Door Birthday Card

I saw this card on Splitcoast Stampers.  The person that designed it had some laser cut saloon doors.  Not only did I not have those, I couldn't find an image to trace or cut in Make the Cut or Silhouette software.

With a little research, I found a shape on the Elegant Edges cartridge that I modified, then cut in half to make the doors.  The louvers are a piece of Stampin Up striped paper.  The horse shoes are clip art.

I printed the sentiment on my computer.  Inside it says "Pardner" in the same old west font.

Cowboy Cards

Last year at GASC, I bought several sheets of chipboard stickers with a western theme.  I thought they'd make good images to use on cards geared toward children.

After working with twine on some other cards today, I decided it could also work as "rope" and here's what I made this afternoon.  The background paper was bought at Hobby Lobby a while back.
