This is the first card I've made in over a year.  It took me a while to get my Silhouette reconnected to my computer and brush up on using Make The Cut software!

Sunday Afternoon Cardmaking

 I used one of my favorite Stampin' Up stamp sets on this one.  The citrus images are so versatile and can be used on many types of cards.

 These large flowers have been in my stash for quite a while.  I typically do not use them on my cards if the card is to be mailed because the flower gets crushed by the post office machinery.

This card was inspired by one I saw on Pinterest.  The playing cards were cut in half.  I printed the sentiment using card making software.  The inside sentiment is "Hoping yous is a winner!" 

This will make a good card for a man's birthday.

Burgundy Birthday Card

The background was embossed with a Brocade Cuttlebug folder.

The center squares that are set on point are 1 3/4" in the burgundy cardstock and 1 1/2" for the inset piece.

The sentiment is from SU's Create A Cupcake set.

Friday Afternoon Cardmaking

 They don't show up well in the photos but the first two cards have some metallic skeletonized leaves tucked under the sentiment.

I printed the butterflies and it just so happened that they fit the two Martha Stewart butterfly punches I have on hand.

 The colors aren't true in this photo.  I used distress ink and some SU ink on the doily and it does match the cardstock.

Several years ago I found rolls of self-adhesive lacy paper edging at the Dollar Tree.  I'd pretty much forgotten all about having them until I ran across them this afternoon.

This card was inspired by one seen on Splitcoast Stampers.

Black and Yellow Birthday Card

Birthday card CASED from Pinterest.

I cut a triangle from the yellow striped paper and then layered 1/2" wide strips of the black polka dotted paper on top.

The flower is made of two Stampin' Up punched shapes.

Vintage Birthday Card

My Cameo was used to cut out the shadow piece underneath the Decorative Label punch and the word "Vintage".

Petite Petals stamp and punch was used for the flowers. 

The leaves are a Martha Stewart punch.

30 Minute Card -- Embossed Birthday Card

The section embossed with a Cuttlebug folder was trimmed down.  I used a Stampin' Up marker to highlight three of the asterisks in the embossed design.

The sentiment stamp is from the set Bring On The Cake.

Six Petal Flower Card

The white base was embossed with a Darice folder.

Make The Cut was used to size and cut the six petal flowers.

I added a dot of Pearl Pen for the centers and pop dotted them for dimension.

The sentiment was computer printed and also pop dotted onto the card front.

30 Minute Birthday Cards

 A simple clip art image colored with Promarkers and some punched shapes will make quite a few cute, simple birthday cards in no time at all.

These were inspired by a stamp set seen in a catalog.

I used hemp cord rather than ribbon for the bows.

Happy "Bee" Day Card

I spent the last two and a half hours making four of these cards!  It was inspired by one seen online that was made using a die for the honeycomb cut outs and a stamp set neither of which I own.

Finding a suitable bee image online to do a print and cut with was pretty simple.  Getting it edited, resized and cut took a few tries using Silhouette software.

The antennae and the flight lines were done with a Stampin' Up marker.  I printed the sentiment using Hallmark Card software.

DH's Birthday Card

This is the card I made for DH's birthday.  He enjoys guns and hunting so it's appropriate!

The Elmer Fudd image is clip art.  I did two print and cut images using my Cameo then fussy cut out his hat and clothing and layered them onto the base image using pop dots.  Then I pop dotted the entire assembly for dimension.

The edges of the elements were inked and I added some pen work.

The sentiments were printed using Hallmark Card Making software.

Starfish and Seahorse Card -- And Time To Move On

Now that Operation Write Home has announced they'll no longer be accepting donations of cards effective August 1, 2015, I'm having to re-think my card making efforts.

It seems futile to just accumulate a huge supply of cards but I have so many supplies that need to be used up!

I'm seriously considering putting away my paper crafting supplies and going back to other hobbies that I've enjoyed in the past.  And, if I cannot find an outlet for my cards, that's what I'll do.

Making cards has been my primary focus for so long that it's going to be quite a change for me.

I will be making inquiries locally to see if any of the nursing homes or local charity groups might be interested in receiving some cards but have decided that I will no longer devote my crafting time exclusively to paper crafting.  It's been great fun to participate in the OWH effort.  Through making cards I've met a lot of new friends and pushed myself to learn new techniques.

My blog will be changing as I will now post more recipes and perhaps photos of my other creations.

Three Feathers Birthday Card

This is a card seen in issue 132 of Simply Cards and Papercraft, a publication from the U.K..  Each issue of the magazine comes with a gift attached.  The gift for this issue was a feather shaped die.  There is a set of coordinating stamps and sentiments to go with the die but I have been unable to find a source to purchase it.

The sentiment was printed using Hallmark Card Studio and the background was embossed with a script folder.

The colors are gold, bright pink, teal and navy blue.  The navy photographed as black.

Pinwheel Birthday Card

The paper I used for this is from Making Memories, Sarah Jane, Children at Play.  I'm pretty sure Shirley and I picked this up at Tuesday Morning a couple of years ago since I have so many sheets of the same design.

I fussy cut the pinwheels from the reverse side of the striped paper and stamped the candles and sentiment.

The sentiment and the pinwheels are pop dotted for dimension.

Buzzard Birthday Card

This buzzard has been in my clip art file for some time.  I'd never really used it because it would be so difficult to trim by hand.  Now that I have a Cameo and have learned to use the print and cut feature, it's perfect for a humorous birthday card.

 The words were printed using Creepy font.

Art Impressions Celeste Image Card

The twine was colored with the same Promarker used for the lady's slacks.  I resized the sentiment and used oval punches for those.

Coffee Cup Lady Birthday Card

This image has been used on other birthday cards.  Up until I learned to do print and cut with my Cameo, I'd just print the clip art image onto white cardstock and then mat it onto a piece of colored cardstock.  It's too detailed to easily cut out by hand so it's always been on a white background rectangle.

Now that I'm an "expert" --- yeah, right!---doing print and cut, I imported the image into Silhouette Studio software and cut it that way.  It did take several tries and a lot of tweaking to get it just right.

I tried several times to do some sort of offset and cut a shadow layer using the Studio software and never could accomplish that.  And when I tried to create a shadow layer using MTC, it never lined up properly.  So, I just pop dotted the image and it looks fine.

The inside sentiment is " You go first. Happy Birthday!".
