Apples and Leaves Card

The Tart and Tangy stamp set was one of the very first ones I bought from Stampin' Up.  The set includes an apple, lemon slice, cherry branch and a strawberry.  Even though I've had them for several years they're still some of my favorites.

The apple background paper is also from Stampin' Up.

OWH Cards

The apple sign may have been colored by Shirley while at stamp club a few months ago.  I found a sheet of them and decided they'd work up into some quick cards to help fill my box for OWH.

Since DH's accident in December, I haven't made nearly as many cards as usual to send so I'm playing catch-up.

A couple of years ago Provocraft had a clip art
website.  The elephant and sentiment were from a set called Born to be Wild.

Whenever I get totally stumped for card inspiration, I print off some of the comical animals and make some quick cards.

The card base is a premade card from Paper Studio.  I printed and hand cut the leaves and added some Prima flowers with Pearl Pen centers.

I cut and shadowed the stem on my Cameo.  The flowers were done with my latest SU punch.

The sentiment was printed on my computer and then I added some black pen stitching around the edges.

Scrappy Apple Card

Since the pieces on the card front are only 1 1/4" wide, this card is a good way to use up your narrow scraps of printed paper.

The sentiment is from a CTMH stamp of the month set, Sweet Life; the apple is from Preserves cartridge.  I tweaked it some and cut it in MTC software.  The edges of the apple and leaf are shadowed with Chestnut Roan ink and I added a white highlight on the apple with a gel pen. The red dots on the stamped center piece were done with a Promarker.

For an A2 size card you cut:  2 pieces of patterned cardstock 1 1/4" x 4"
                                             2 pieces of patterned cardstock 1 1/4" x 2 3/4"
                                             1 piece of white cardstock 1 3/8" x 2 5/8"

These pieces can be arranged so that you have 1/8" of the card base showing through.  Start in one corner, place your first piece so that there's 1/8" of the base showing on the outer edge and the other three pieces will fit perfectly.

Then stamp your sentiment and place the center piece.

Love You to the Core Card

The apple is from the Preserves cartridge; the mat is from Accent Essentials.  Both were modified and cut on my Cameo with Make the Cut software.   This card was inspired by one seen on Pinterest.

Happy Apple Card

Who knew there was a perfect apple on the Home Accents cartridge?  I certainly didn't until I was scrolling through my Excel spreadsheet that lists the shapes by cartridge!

I cut the apple using Design Studio so I was able to use the "hide contour" feature to eliminate cutting the apple, stem and leaf all one color.  Then I cut the stem and leaf section from green cardstock and colored the stem with a BIC marker.

The apple is inked with Chestnut Roan.  As I was doing the inking, I slightly arced the top and bottom center of the apple to allow me to ink the indentation.  This makes it seem more prounounced.  Then I added some white gel pen work onto the eyes and edge of the leaf.  The face is a Peachy Keen stamp.

The sentiment was printed in Hallmark card software.  I even added the background in the software and printed it too!  I don't know why I haven't done this technique before!  It makes perfectly good sense to do it this way instead of just printing the words onto white cardstock and then having to cut mats to go behind that.

Seems I'm using my computer more and more and buying fewer stamps to use.  Not only do I enjoy having the option of changing my fonts, I don't have to figure out where to store the stamps and I save tons of money!

30 Minute Card

The apple on the Preserves cartridge was cut at 3" for this card.  I layered and stitched the polka dot centers and added some pen stitching around the edges.  The blue section was embossed with a Stampin' Up folder.

Another easy, quick card that can be used with a variety of sentiments.

Apple Card

This card was inspired by one of the old Sheetload e-zines.  I miss seeing those every month; they were always such a good source of inspiration for card making.

Tart & Tangy stamp from SU
Apple and polka dotted paper from SU
Spiral punch and 1 1/4" punches from SU
SU watercolor markers used for stamped image

I left the inside blank and inserted a sheet of white paper since the card base is colored.
