Embossed and Inked Butterfly Card

The butterflies were embossed onto vellum.  I trimmed the embossed area following the upper edge of the design then colored the butterflies on the back side using a Promarker.
This gives the impression that the butterflies have been cut out to let the card base color show through.

The sentiment was printed on my computer then punched with a Word Window punch and layered onto a Modern Label punched out shape.

The white butterfly was embossed with a Brocade folder and pop dotted for dimension. It's a Martha Stewart punch.

Blue Card With Red Flowers

The overlay  is vellum embossed with a Cuttlebug folder.  I added some white gel pen dots and used Pearl Pens for the flower centers.

CASED Mother's Day Cards

Pinterest is a great place to find inspiration for cards.  These two were patterned after ones seen on there.
The pink one is from The Paper Stamper 's blog.  I believe the other one was a commercially done card.

The flower was embossed onto vellum with a Darice folder.  The butterfly was done with a Stampin Up punch and has Liquid Pearls for the accent.

I printed the sentiment and punched the ovals with a Stampin' Up punch also.

It took quite a while to find fonts that would fit onto the card front so the word "MOTHER" would be on the center front.

The flowers were stamped and punched with Stampin' Up products.  The border punch is from We R Memory Keepers.

Bermuda Bay ink from Stampin' Up was used for the flowers.

Birthday Card With Vellum Overlay

The vellum was embossed with a Cuttlebug folder and layered over a piece of light blue cardstock.  The party hats are a Martha Stewart punch.  The flame on the candle is an image from 3 Birds on Parade cartridge.  I just cut a narrow strip of blue glitter paper for the candle.

Vellum Overlay Christmas Cards

A Facebook friend posted a Christmas card using this technique.  I like the silhouette underneath the vellum.

A Child's Year was used for the silhouette as well as the holly leaves.  I cut the leaves from white cardstock and colored them with Promarkers.

After doing three of these, I decided the background paper should be brighter and made this one using a snowflake from Accent Essentials.

The vellum square has an embossed line around the outer edge so it doesn't look completely flat on the card.

Vellum Overlay Cards

Vicki Bridges, who teaches at And Bear Makes 3, designed these cards for one of her classes.  The stamps are Scripty Stems by Stampendous.  The papers I used are Coredinations and Stampin' Up with a vellum overlay.  Some of the cards have dots done with Pearl Pens for accents.  I used Rose Red Momento ink and Chestnut Brown Colorbox Chalk inks.

The stamp set has several different script sentiments so I'm going to get a lot of use from this set.
