Teal Blue flowers Card

The  flower stamped with Color Box teal blue ink.  It's a Stampin' Up stamp and punch.  The sentiment is also from Stampin' Up.  I added some Pearl Pen dots for accents.

30 Minute Card

This embossed oval card really only takes about 30 minutes to assemble.

I used the Sizzix oval embossing folder from Stampin' Up and their large oval punch for the center.  Measuring the outer edge of the oval, I cut an oval with my George cartridge to 2 x 2 5/8".  That's a perfect size to fit onto the embossing folder.  The center oval measures 1 3/8 x 2" in case you don't have the large oval punch.

The sentiment is from the CTMH Art Philosophy bundle stamps.
I added some drops of Pearl Pen to the lower corner just to break up the solid blue paper and added a ribbon to conceal the seam between the two papers.
The edges of the embossed oval were inked with ColorBox chalk ink.

30 Minute Cards

Crafty Queen posted a card like this on Facbook today.  It's one of those super simple, quick to make layouts that I like for Operation Write Home cards.  It took me less than 30 minutes to assemble six of these and then probably another 10 minutes to apply the heat set shapes and do some pen stitching on them.

I used Stampin Up polka dot parade paper and a SU butterfly punch that's now retired.  But you can do this with any punch, just measure it and cut your strips that width.

This card has two of my favorite things:  butterflies and polka dots!  What's not to like?

Here's why it's so fast to make these cards.  If you're using the SU butterfly punch, cut strips of paper 1 3/4" wide.  I stacked all three of mine, centered the punch on the narrow end and punched out the butterfly.  Then I used the negative cuts for the strips.

By layering the strips, you can cut two sets; one from each end of the strips, so you have enough cut for two cards with only two punches.  What takes the time is picking up those little metal heat set embellishments and getting them onto the card after you drop them a couple of times!

My Version of a Stampin' Up Card

Saw this one in a Stampin' Up catalog I was looking through this evening.  Most of the time I don't have all the stamps and punches they use on their examples, but this time I did!

The stamp set is Language of Friendship.  I used a 2 3/8" scalloped circle punch to mount the bird.  There are Stickles in the centers on the flowers.  I used a Cuttlebug folder for the background and added a little ink for dimension.

Cupcake Punch Card

I made three versions of this card.  One has a twine bow with the cupcake mounted on an oval shape, one has the cupcake on a tag shape with a narrow strip of yellow card stock that goes across the width of the card underneath and this version.

The cupcake was done with a Stampin' Up punch and the tag was cut by hand.

Reindeer Made With Stampin' Up Owl Punch

I just saw this on Pinterest and quickly assembled it so I wouldn't forget how to do the reindeer.  The one I saw online used a snowflake punch for the antlers, and had stick on googlie eyes;  these antlers are a Martha Stewart branch punch and punched circles for the eyes and nose.

Tomorrow, I'll try to find a snowflake cut on a Cricut cartridge to use.  I don't really like the way the branches look on mine.

I went a little overboard!

SU sent me a little sale catalog a few weeks ago called Occasions Mini.  I knew that they were going to start their Sale-a-bration on January 25th so I just set it aside to see what I might like in the SAB catalog.

On the 25th, I made the mistake of getting BOTH catalogs out and picking out things I really thought I'd use and this is what I wound up with! LOL!

Stamp sets:                               Punches:
Build a Blossom                       Two Step Owl
Button, Button                          Build a Cupcake
Two Step Owl                         Blossom Petals
Butterfly Prints
Bring on the Cake
Punch Bunch
So Happy for You
Cottage Garden
Birthday Bakery

I also ordered 12 more of the clear stamp cases to put some of the stamps I already own into.

The Decorative Label punch that I really wanted was put on backorder.  I sure hope they get some in soon.  Making cards, I'm always looking for a good way to put a sentiment on the front.  Printing them with my PC and punching them is super fast.

We're on day 1 of a major winter storm so I have the entire day to just stay inside and play with my new goodies.  But, first I have to go over to Okie's blog and watch her video showing how she unmounted her wooden stamps and put the static cling foam on them.

A while back I was brave enough to unmount my Studio G stamps but was afraid I'd mess up the ones from SU.  But I'm running out of room to store stamps so I have to get them unmounted and into  clear stamp cases.
