Cutout Flag Card

Inspired by a card seen at Splitcoaststampers, I used MTC software to modify a banner shaped cutout to form the stripes on the flag. Then I resized and cut the stars.

The white lines were added with a gel pen.

The red cardstock as well as the stars are pop dotted for dimension.

Patriotic Card

Close to My Heart is offering sets of military/patriotic stamps.  A portion of the proceeds goes to the USO.  My friend, Sue Painter, sent one set to me since she knows I do cards for Operation Write Home.

OWH asks that we put "Any Hero" cards in our shipments.  They're to be directed toward the service men and women to thank them for their service.  I told Sue these would be perfect images for those cards.

Patriotic Themed Card

A very simple card inspired by one seen online.  The card front is kraft paper.  Each of the three panels has a star embossed pattern; I added some twine and a computer generated sentiment.

Patriotic Themed Valentine

Carla Bazhenow shared this card on her blog.  I used  Cuttlebug folders to emboss the papers, sanded the blue Coredinations cardstock and inked the edges of the checked star and the red stripes.

The heart was cut using George and the stars from Indie Art.

It's a great patriotic themed Valentine card that will go to Operation Write Home.

Red, White and Blue Cards

The current challenge for Cards for Soldiers is to use red, white and blue on our cards.  The paper is some I found at Hobby Lobby, the stickers were in my sticker stash and I added some border punched pieces and some Stickles (which I managed to stick my fingers into and smear at least 3 times).

These cards are part of my effort to use up the supplies I have on hand.  There is still a Jetmax drawer full of stickers that I need to use, and I've already gone through and donated a lot that I thought I'd never use.
I'm also trying to use up the regular weight paper that's on hand and go to more 12 x 12 cardstock weight.  Right now I have a ton of light weight paper so I'll probably do a lot more simple cards like these to get it used up.
