Cooper's Chair

I saw these on Pinterest and tracked the instructions down on Que Linda!

It only took Fred about 30 minutes to assemble the chair.  I stitched up the seat sling and applied Cooper's name on it with heat transfer vinyl.

I hope he likes it!

Blue Tag Card

The yellow lace strip was done with a We R Memory Keeper punch, the tag, a Stampin' Up punch and stamp.  I printed the sentiment and attached the ribbon with a tiny gold safety pin.

B Happy Card

I printed the word "happy" and punched it with an 1 1/2" punch and added some pen stitching to the edges and a couple of Prima flowers with Pearl Pen dot centers.

The letter "B" is Garamond Bold font, cut at 1.08 inches.

The doily in the background is from Elegant Edges cartridge.  The doily had a solid center so I added a 2 3/4" circle cut out in the center.

Today's Card

I printed the circle and flowers with Hallmark software and added some glitter accents on the flowers with a gel pen and some red pen stitching.  The red flowers on the top portion were done with an EK Success punch.

Mission Accomplished!

Lately, I've sort of slacked off in my card making for Operation Write Home.  Today I set a goal for myself to complete 24 cards and I met my goal.  In between chores today I designed and assembled twelve each of two different designs.

It takes me too long to select papers to use!

The telephone is off the From My Kitchen cartridge.

This one is based on a card by Debbie Olson.

Flip Flop Card

My Cameo cut these 1 1/2" flip flops from the Traveler cartridge like "buttah".  Once I got them cut I realized the red portion was so tiny that putting Scotch Quick Dry glue on it would be virtually impossible.  The Xyron machine seemed like a good idea until I attempted to remove the cardstock from the adhesive strips.

I solved my problem by putting the strips from the Xyron machine through my Cuttlbug.  The pressure of the rollers smoothed the red cardstock pieces onto the adhesive and made it a snap to remove them.

This card was inspired by one seen on Pinterest by Debbie Olson.

Three Butterflies Card

I printed the sheet music on light blue card stock anc cut it into 1 3/4" squares to mount the clip art butterflies I'd colored with Promarkers.

Then I inked the edges and added some dots with a black Pearl Pen.

Daisy Card

Make the Cut and an image from the Bloom cartridge were used on this card.  I printed the tag and then punched it with an EK Success punch.

Paper Strips Butterfly Card

My Mini-8 punches arrived today from HSN.  I used the doily punch to make the layer underneath the narrow paper strips.  The butterfly is an EK Success punch and the ribbon is from Stampin' Up.

I used Memento Danube blue ink to stamp the background on the kraft paper.

Howdy Card

A super fast and easy card to do.  I inked the background to make the clouds, added a clip art image of a comical cowboy and printed the sentiment.

Glamour Girl Card

Okay, okay, this one is totally CASED from the winter issue of Just Cards magazine.  When I saw the glamour girl label, I realized that I'd seen it on some Graphic 45 paper from their Domestic Goddess collection.  I found the sheets I bought with the image but, as you know, I can't bring myself to use up my Graphic 45 papers.  Once they're gone, they're gone!

Thinking that I could find a suitable image to substitute, I used Google Image search and found the exact same label that's on the Graphic 45 paper!  Now I have the jpg image saved and can use it as many times as I want.

The sentiment was printed in Hallmark card software.  I embossed the background with a Cuttlebug folder.  The daisy is from the CTMH Art Philosophy cartride.  I clipped the shank off a black button and mounted it with foam for the flower center.  I also added some black dots with a Pearl Pen in one corner of the mat and a few rows of baker's twine.

The original card was done by Beverly Sizemore.

30 Minute Card

Super fast.  Just two Cuttlebug embossing folders and an EK Success punch.

Applying Vinyl Onto Wineglasses and Tumblers

If you're getting started applying vinyl onto round surfaces, you know how difficult it can be to keep the a glass in one spot while lining up your design.  I've seen a couple of tools designed to hold items but knew I wouldn't do enough of these to make it worthwhile to buy one.  Here's my "almost free" solution.  All you need is some fabric and any type of dried pea, bean, rice or corn.

The blue fabric bag underneath the glass is a microwaveable "corn sack".  It's filled with deer corn and is intended to be heated up and used as a heating pad for sore muscles.

While trying to stabilize a glass the other day while applying vinyl letters, I remembered that I'd made several of these for gifts a few years ago, pulled one out and it works like a charm!

The bag is long enough that the corn moves around inside.  Just "snuggle" the glass into the corn so that it holds it firmly.  The advantage of using the corn sack over the tool I saw online is that you're not limited to a particular size or shape of item.  Since the corn moves around, you can manipulate it to hold any shape or size item.  Then when you're not using it, just pop it back into the freezer to have on hand as a cold pack for any injury that requires ice. LOL!

30 Minute Card for Boys

This version of yesterday's 30 Minute Card is for boys.  No flowers on this one!  I like the colors and patterns I used!

Hugs To You Card

Inspired by a card seen in Just Cards magazine, I printed the letter scramble then highlighted the words with a Promarker.  The image I used is clip art I've had for some time.

30 Minute Card

Need a quick card?  You can definitely assemble this one in thirty minutes or less.  Just choose an appropriate stamp for the occasion.

I cut two rectangles of light grey cardstock 2 x 2/34" and two black 2 1/4 x 3" and layered them with a piece of ribbon.  The sentiment is a Tim Holtz stamp.

I Miss You Card

Inspired by a card seen in Just Cards Magazine.

I printed the round black circle with my computer, then used a Stampin' Up 2 1/" circle punch and stamp on it.  The butterfly was done with a three step EK Success punch; the black border was done with a Fiskars punch.

Second variation on this card.  I think I prefer the scalloped circle punch shape over the round one.  I edged it with a black marker rather than cut a shadow for it.  I added some ink to the edges of the patterned paper too.

Birthday Cutout Card

Inspired by Jennifer Hawkins
What appears to be a simple birthday card has taken me over two hours to get five of them cut and assembled!

When I saw this card online, I couldn't tell if the words "happy" were cut out of colored cardstock and applied to the white background, or if they were cut out of the white with colored cardstock underneath.  I tried cutting the words from colored cardstock and applying them and the card was just totally flat looking.

Then I set up a file and cut the "happy" three times out of the white background and layered it on top of narrow strips of colored cardstock.  It made all the difference in the world in the appearance of the card.

The font I used is Lobster 1.4 and the smaller ones are less than 1" high.

Hang In There Card

The image is from Dustin Pike and colored with Promarkers.  I added some stitching with Stampin' Up markers and printed the sentiment with my computer.

30 Minute Card

I colored a free clip art image with Promarkers and printed the sentiment on my computer.

Thanks, Carol Neal, for sharing this card idea with me at stamp club this week.  Mine turned out cute, but I still like the '57 Chevy you used on yours better!

30 Minute Card

The green label and the red tag shape were cut with Silhouette Studio and a Cameo.  I punched a 1/2" brown circle and added a brad and string onto the tag.  the sentiment was printed on my computer.  This card was inspired by one seen in Just Cards magazine.

Scalloped Punch Birthday Card

Inspired by a card seen in the latest Close To My Heart catalog, which featured their version of the birthday sentiment stamp.

Nowadays, I'm doing the majority of my sentiments on my computer.  It saves me tons of money and I don't have to find room to store another sentiment stamp.  Another great benefit to going digital is that you can print the images any size you want.

There were three EK Sucess punches used: 1 3/4" and 2" scallop and 2 1/2" circle to create the base for the sentiment.  The largest scalloped shape was cut with Make The Cut software and my Cameo.

The card I based mine on had a white background.  Once I finished this one, I thought the white was too stark.  I added some pen work to break up the white area but still wasn't satisfied.

I'm glad I was working on these at stamp club where I had the LSS, Scraptopia, to shop in!  I picked up some sheets of light blue cardstock for the base and like the cards much better.

The large white brads are from the last Stampin' Up clearance sale.  All the papers I used are from Authentique.

Vinyl Decal

My niece asked me if I could make this decal after she saw one like it online.  It measures 6" across.  The gun image was a free vector file and I used Make The Cut software and my Cameo for the cut.

It didn't take long at all to get the sign designed.  I sent the file to Okieladybug and she tweaked the lettering which made it look a lot nicer than the original.

I'm having a lot of fun doing these car decals!

Thanks Courtney for taking the photo after you put it on your car.

Shirley's Card Party

This is the second year that I've been invited to Shirley's, aka Okieladybug, Valentine card making party.  She converts her living room into a craft space for several of her friends to make some really gorgeous Valentine cards.

When we arrive, the room's all set up and she's set out tools and embellishments to be used on the cards.  The cards are pre-cut and she gives us a choice of sentiments to use inside so we can have several cute cards ready to use when we are finished.

Here are the ones I made yesterday.  I kept trying to decide which one I liked best!

Love the color combination on this one.  It just looks happy!
I named this one my Zombie Owl since I opted to use red rhinestones on his eyes!
The black and white mat is flocked paper.  The hearts are metallic papers.
I've decided this one is my favorite.  I like the different patterns of paper and the colors.  The patterns give it a lot of texture.

Sympathy Card

I pop dotted the negative cut in the white cardstock and tuckede positive cut in the dark grey underneath.  The background was embossed with a Cuttlebug folder.

Party Hat Birthday Card

The hat shape is from Sweet Treats cartridge; the pom pon is a Stampin' Up punch.  I inked the edges of the hats and pom pons and mounted them on punched 1" squares of white and 1 1/4" of the hat color scraps.

The background is embossed with a Cuttlebug folder.  The stamp is from a Fiskars set.\
