Silver Snowflake Carde

The snowflake is silver metallic card stock.  It picked up some reflection when I made the photo so it looks like it's variegated card stock.  The snowflake is from Winter Lace cartrdige, cut with Make The Cut software.

Latest OWH Christmas Cards

Punches were used for the star and snowflake; the tree was cut with Make The Cut.  I also used MTC for all the little white squares.  Letting the machine do the work was much faster than doing it on my paper cutter.
The holly leaves are punched out and I added red Stickles for the berries.  The sentiment is a Stampin' Up stamp and I added some pen work.
The sentiment was cut with MTC.  The Santa face is clip art.  The base for this card is a Paper Studio blank card from Hobby Lobby.
Another clip art Santa with a printed ribbon sentiment.  This is another of the Paper Studio cards.
I wrestled, fought and cussed the We R Memory Keepers punch to do this border piece.  I HATE their punches.  Sure am glad I only wound up with four of them.  The sentiment is computer printed.  The pine cones are clip art that I pop dotted for dimension.
I printed the Christmas definition and used a Martha Stewart border punch on the edges.  The bow is a premade one from Hobby Lobby.  I buy them every year in their Christmas ornament department.  Sure do wish they had other colors.  They're a perfect size for an accent on my cards.
The sentiment is computer printed.  I added a couple of tiny stamped hearts.
The background on this is a sheet of paper left over from last year.  I ran across it while looking for some other Christmas paper.  It made a quick, cute card with the Santa face clip art.
I cut the snowflake with MTC and mounted a piece of red paper behind it.  Then pop dotted it onto the kraft paper card base, added some pen work, twine bow and a Stampin' Up sentiment.
Another of the Paper Studio cards.  I stamped the sentiment and triple matted it, added some pen dots and then stamped and cut out the tree.
The snowflakes are punched; the snowman is clip art that's colored with Stampin' Up markers.
I printed the snowflakes then punched them with a postage stamp punch.  The sentiment is from Stampin' Up.  I added some silver heat set embellishments on the centers of the snowflakes and at each end of the sentiment.
The candy cane is a clip art image.  I tied a gross grain bow around it and printed the sentiment.
Another card with the Santa clip art face.  I printed the sentiment and punched the snowflakes.

These cards are pretty simple and went together quickly since I had the premade bases by Paper Studio for several of them.

I set myself a goal of having a box of 250 cards completed and in the mail to OWH before October 15th.  That's their cut off date for Christmas cards.

I've made so many Christmas cards this past week that I'm ready for Christmas to be over!

Snowflake Card

I used Marketing Script font to cut the sentiment. "Merry" is cut from gold metallic card stock.   The snowflakes are from the Winter Lace cartridge.  It was inspired by a card seen on Pinterest.

Santa Suit Card

This card by Stampin' Up demonstrator, Linda Aarhus can be seen on her blog Polka Dots & Paper. I didn't have all the punches she used so I made do with the ones I have on hand.

The buttons are a Martha Stewart punch.  They're layered onto a 2 x 3 1/4" piece of white paper that I edged with a Stampin' Up border punch.  The belt is a 1 1/4" strip of black cardstock.  I made the buckle by punching a 3/4" square and then an 1 1/4" square around it from silver metallic paper.  The stamp is one I've had for a long time.  It's embellished with some white Signo pen work.

It's a cute card, simple to assemble and one I could make multiples of for Operation Write Home.

Gold Pear Card

The pear is from the Botanicals cartridge.  I cut it from gold metallic card stock and shadowed it with some dark olive green cardstock.  The snowflakes were done with punches.  The edges were inked with Inca Gold paints and I added a stamped sentiment.

Three Squares Christmas Card

These are some old Stampin' Up stamps.  I used two colors of ink to stamp, mounted them on a red and gold metallic mats.  The Merry Christmas image is pop dotted for dimension and has two pre-tied red satin bows.

Music Paper Christmas Card

I used the bow from Christmas Cheer again.  Printed the sentiment and used a Stampin' Up stamp for the tree.

Christmas Stocking Card

The stocking is from CTMH Art Philosophy.  In the photo, the green colors don't match due to the lighting.  I used two EK Success punches for the sentiment and embossed the center panel with a Cuttlebug folder.

Snowflake and Tree Card

A quick modification of a tree from Paper Doll Dress Up cartridge, some punched snowflakes and a peel and stick sentiment made this card fast to assemble.  I added some white pen work to break up the red background and the tree is pop dotted for dimension.

25th Card

I modified an ornament from Christmas Noel cartridge, added some punched holly leaves, Stickles and some pop dotted numbers.  The background is embossed with a Cuttlebug folder.  The sentiment was printed and trimmed with some punched snowflakes.

Jingle Bell Card

The jingle bell is from Christmas Noel Cricut cartridge, cut with my Cameo and Make The Cut software.  I used mica paper for the top layer of the bell and the bow and solid cardstock for the shadows and the trim on the bell.

Christmas Card for OWH

I'm getting a late start on my Christmas cards for Operation Write Home.  So, I'm making more of a single design than usual in order to get as many done as possible.

The white square was embossed with my Cuttlebug.  I used metallic gold paper for one of the mats and printed the sentiment on my computer.

The papers used are Graphic 45.

CASED Christmas Card

Inspired by a card in the Stampin' Up catalog, I substituted my tree stamp for the one they used.  The sentiment was printed on my computer, some line work and inking was added to add some dimension.

This pun was just too good not to use!

Etching With My Blasting Cabinet Today

It's beginning to cool off some in Oklahoma.  It's almost cool enough to enjoy working outside so I took the opportunity to use the blasting cabinet this afternoon.

A while back, I picked up these insulated tumblers at the Dollar Tree thinking I'd decorate them with vinyl for Christmas gifts.  Today, I etched some glassware for gifts and saw the tumblers on my shelf and decided to give etching on acrylic a try.

This stuff etches so quickly!  A single pass of the nozzle and the design's done.  I did the blue one first as a test and then a friend asked me to do one for her with the Texas longhorn emblem.

I'm not a football fan at all, but I did ask her if I could put the longhorn head on her cup upside down.  LOL!

30 Minute Light Bulb Card

Another 30 Minute Card.  I used a clip art image, Promarker, ribbon and some pop dots for dimension.  I was able to complete sixteen of these in less than an hour for OWH.

Vintage Graphic 45 Card

Inspired by a card seen online, I traced the silhouette image and cut it with Make The Cut software. One of my favorite features of MTC is how easy it is to make a shadow and how you can adjust the width of it.

The papers are all Graphic 45.

Stacked Cups Card

This is a digital image I found online.  It's a good thing I only printed four of these.  By the time I got them all colored, I was tired of all the tiny pieces and trying to pick colors!

Christmas Cards

Not being a fan of the current chevron trend, I am glad that this paper from Stampin' Up is two sided.  The snowflake is from a Cricut cartridge; I used a We R Memory Keepers punch for the trim piece and embossed the background with a Cuttlebug folder.  The trees were cut in Make The Cut software and I lightly inked the edges of the white pieces.

This is the project that I took to stamp club last night.  I have to take pre-cut card kits to work on or I don't get a single thing done.  Although this is a simple looking card, there are a lot of pieces and steps to getting one completed.

Getting Back to Card Making Today

The past few days have been spent designing files in Make The Cut and etching glass items for a craft show.  It seems like forever since I've done any cards.  Since I got so distracted, no box of cards was sent to OWH for the month of August and I'm playing catch up now.

These two simple cards are what I made today.  Since they're very simple, it didn't take long to make multiples.

One CTMH stamp and three circle punches were all I needed to make on this one.
A clip art image was used on this one.  I added a
computer printed sentiment and a piece of twine.

Patriotic Etched Block

The flag is a clip art image I found online and traced in Make The Cut software.  I used Cornerstone font for the lettering.  This will look nice with a wide red, white and blue ribbon around the outside edge.
